Lapaz

Lapaz is an exotic island west of India, it has a population of 70,000 people and is really hot all year round.

Lots of tourists go to Lapaz to see the 15m statue of a giraffe that was built by Mr Lapaz in 1945. The giraffe is the most protected animal in Lapaz along with the chimpanzee. The jungle and beaches is another reason lots of people go to visit the island.

Lapaz was discovered by the Lapaz family in the 1800s, as they were sailing across to Oman. In the past 100 years 35,000 have come to live there an the only way you can get there is by a boat.
Lots of people came to live at lapaz because there are lots of jobs like picking lots of the fruit to sell overseas, looking after the wildlife, keeping the beaches clean and lots of other jobs.

The small island Lapaz is 187 km west of India. The island Lapaz is covered in palm trees and it has lots of fruit trees like banana trees, pineapple trees, mango trees and many more. The island is flat and has small streams running through the town.
